As a student-created 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we hope to empower the next generation of students to discover their passions within computer science. By providing free access to course material and our personalized curriculum which helps students navigate the world of programming, our team plans to help diversify the field of technology and especially help those who come from low-income and disadvantaged populations. Our mission is to expand access to computer science education and digital literacy for all communities, particularly through free coding programs offered in partnership with local libraries.
CodingToAll is a student created and run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We teach students of all ages programming concepts in our free online sessions during the school year. We are partnered with multiple libraries in California and have had the chance to tutor students from India also. We have a tailored curriculum that we teach the students of different ages so that they enjoy the program and learn without feeling lost.
This year, we plan to introduce new libraries to our program so we can teach more students. We also plan on focusing on outreach in order to get more students and tutors to join our program. Next, we are planning on making our tutoring sessions more fun by introducing fun activities like escape rooms every month so that it makes it more enjoyable for the students. We would like to create another fundraising campaign to help out one of our local libraries like we did in India. Lastly, we plan on establishing more leadership positions in the organization to our tutors for the 2025 year in order to run things more smoothly!
Since our inception, the Santa Ana Public Library and Anaheim Public Library branches have helped support the mission of CodingtoAll. These library systems have provided us with a welcoming and accommodating space, allowing us to teach library attendees weekly over the Zoom platform. Through this collaboration, we have had the privilege of engaging with students spanning a wide spectrum of ages and backgrounds which has ultimately created a diverse and enriching interactive experience that has significantly contributed to our mission.
We had the privilege of traveling to India during the summer of 2023 to teach students from rural communities more about computer science and digital security. CodingToAll was able to raise over $10k to donate PCs and other computer equipment to students at the secondary school depicted above.
Since our founding, CodingToAll has had the chance to viturally tutor students from Santa Ana Library and Anaheim Public Library and introduced the kids of varying ages a variety of programming concepts in different languages, including Python, Java, and block.
CodingToAll has had the chance to raise more than $10,000 in computer equipment for a secondary school in India and has given these students access to computers in order to foster their learning. We have also had the chance to teach these students virtually, in which they gained exposure to coding, something which they will cherish. We have also a large portion of students that we teach in the United States.
CodingToAll has been able to impact the lives of over 50 youth across the world, from different backgrounds so that they can gain exposure to programming and gain inspiration. These students come from the libraries we are partnered with, India, and from the United States.
Our Volunteers and Leadership Team have contributed 400+ hours making CodingToAll what it is, and we have provided multiple PVSA awards to our volunteers for their hard work.
